Ideas for Learning at Home
The best thing that you can do for your child is to help them love learning! In kindergarten, it is important for students to be inquisitive and enjoy what they are doing! My #1 suggestion for practice at home is to READ. Any form of reading is beneficial, reading to your child or having them read to you. You just don't want it to be a struggle. Asking questions about the story and making connections are great ways for children to become more engaged readers.
If you are looking for some practice in addition to reading, practice reading and writing sight words and numbers.

Play in the car!
Car rides are a great time to practice! Play I Spy for numbers and letters. Have students count from one stop light to the next. Give students a letter and ask them to think of as many words that start or end with that letter. The possibilities are endless!
